Over the weekend, Jilly & Kiddles had it's first trunk show. What an fun experience!
I've been preparing for this for weeks, dyeing lots of extra yarn and deciding how I'd like my popup shop to look. There was a lot to do, but I think it went really well. I enjoyed meeting so many new people and getting to show off my yarn in person. My husband Brian came with me to help with checkout, and I'm so glad he did. Without him, it would certainly have been much more chaotic. I think we pretty much worked out the kinks. Plus, he provides some stress relief, for sure. Here he is trying on a slouchy hat for some customers for laughs. I can't thank him enough.
I sold out of a new colorway, Field of Wildflowers, and will definitely be adding more in this week. It was a hot commodity. At one point, we only had one skein left, but we couldn't find it. It turns out it was in a customer's arms. When Brian spotted it, he reached for it to show me where it was, and Teresa clutched her yarn to her chest! "What are you doing? They're mine!" she cried. That was one of the best moments of the day for me. Teresa, thanks for being such a great sport about it. (I assure you, he wasn't trying to take it away, but it sure did look that way.)
Field of Wildflowers on Smart Sock--more to come in the next week!
I'm going to keep this one short, because I have so much to do on this Monday morning. Look at all the stuff I still have to sort and put away:
Thank you so much to everyone who came to Knit One Quilt Too on Saturday to meet me and see my yarn. I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you, and love your Instagram comments! Please be sure to tag me when you post up project pics (@jillyandkiddles on Instagram) and use the hashtag #jillyandkiddles so we can all see. I'm sure your projects will be amazing and it's so humbling to see artists creating with a material in which I had a hand. I hope you love your purchases and I look forward to hearing from you and seeing your work. Feel free to reach out (as always) any time by email or "contact me" section on the website with any questions you might have or comments you'd like to share.
Several people did ask about getting larger quantities of yarn than I had with me, in particular colorways. I am always happy to make that happen for you! It's a pleasure. If you email me saying that you'd like a particular colorway that I stock in one of my bases, I can definitely make a special order for you of however many skeins you would like. Simply email and we can work something out.
Before I get off my laptop to work, I also have to say thank you to Knit One Quilt Too for hosting my first trunk show. It was such fun, and they are wonderful to work with! If you are local, go check out Yvonne's shop--it's such a fantastic store.
