Erineen Designs has a brand new cowl pattern for you, designed in my 2-ply Smart Sock base, and I think you're going to LOVE it! I wanted to share some color combination suggestions that would be perfect for this pattern, in case you want to make one for yourself. The great thing about this design is that your cowl uses only about 120 yards of each color, so 2 skeins is enough to make THREE projects! How fabulous is that?

Here's what the designer says about the Inishturk Cowl:
"The Inishturk Cowl is named for a small island off the west coast of Mayo in Ireland. The cables in this cowl meander upwards like the rocks and the paths on this beautiful island, that rises boldly from the wild Atlantic, in wall-like cliffs to the northwest and steep hills to the north.
Much thought was put into making this cowl a relaxing experience for you. Mosaic charts are offered in both light on dark and dark on light so that you don’t have to try and switch them in your head. And the cables are created without a cable needle.
This mosaic cowl is a fast and engaging knit, that you will not be able to put down. You will be saying, ‘just one more row’."
You can purchase this pattern directly on Ravelry or Payhip.
(Psst! My Weekly Newsletter subscribers received a discount code for the pattern in the 3/31/22 newsletter. Be sure to check that email before you purchase and you'll find a code for 20% off--thanks to Erin!)
Need to make one for yourself? Check out these beautiful combos...
Erin's original design features the combination below:
The combos above are my top picks for the Inishturk Cowl, but you can really make it anything you'd like. If you love high contrast, go for a really light and a very dark color. If you like a softer look, pick a light or dark and go with a medium shade for the second color. There are so many options, that I didn't want to create kits and limit the options for you. Go ahead and choose the two skeins you love together best and you're on your way to a delightful project!
The original cowl uses Smart Sock, but all of my Sock weight yarns will work well, too--you can even try to mix two different bases together and create something with so much texture. Having a hard time finding the color you really want in stock? Check out not just Smart Sock, but also Fancy Sock, Glimmer Sock, and Velvet Sock. You're sure to find what you need, and I promise they will work wonderfully in this cowl.
But wait! I have a few more ideas for you...
